10:50 - 10:55 - Welcome; move tables and chairs into clusters of four

10:55 - 11:25 - In small groups, complete the chart: Key Tenets of Educational Philosophy

11:25 - 12:00 - Philosophy in Action, jigsaw activity
  • Each person reads her classroom scenario individually. Prepare to summarize the text out loud to your group. (5-7 minutes)
  • Form groups of four. Each person describes her classroom. As a group determine which philosophy this teacher exemplifies and why. Write your answer at the bottom of the text.
  • If time, debrief as a whole class.

How can you imagine enacting this philosophy in your classroom? Provide specific, concrete examples to illustrate your answer.
